RAF Marham

Marham aerodrome was first opened in 1916 as a military night landing ground. Today RAF Marham is home to the Tornado GR4 Force element of 138 Wing, which also parents RAF Lossiemouth in this new venture. The Marham Wing is one of the largest and busiest in the RAF, operating 4 Squadrons of Tornado GR4 aircraft in the attack and reconnaissance roles. In addition, the Station is home to a number of other key RAF units such as the Tornado Depth Support Wing, Forward Support Wing, the Armament Support Unit, No 3 (RAF) Force Protection Wing, the Tactical Intelligence Wing, the Tornado Maintenance School, the Tornado Engineering Development and Investigation Teams and 2620 Squadron Royal Auxiliary Air Force Regiment.

RAF Marham lies between the towns of Kings Lynn and Downham Market in Norfolk. The nearest large cities are Norwich, Peterborough and Cambridge. Just outside the station's main entrance there is a large Spar shop, a post office, Barbers, Hairdressers and Beauty Salon, Gift shop, Thrift shop, Library, Families Club and Bowl (opens as a Café in the mornings), DHE, SSAFA, Citizens Advice Bureau and The HIVE. The Learning and Training Centre is on the camp but is open to Service personnel and their spouses and also incorporates the Electronic Learning Suite. The station's bowling alley is open to the public.
